Relief and Rehabilitation Efforts forTyphoon “Yolanda” Areas Continue

The “Tulay Lingap ni Padre Pio” (TLPP) sent three ten-wheeler trucks carrying twenty (20) fishing boats as part of the Capuchin Philippine Province’s restoration and rehabilitation efforts in the areas affected by typhoon “Yolanda.”   These trucks are heading to Our Lady of Salvation Parish in Salcedo and Our Lady of the Rosary Parish in Matarinao, both in Eastern Samar. The parishes had been adopted by the Capuchin Province of the Philippines for the implementation of their rehabilitation program. Aside from the boats, the trucks also carried three (3) 36- inch chain saws, two (2) generator sets, forty (40) pick-axes, and twelve (12) boxes of medical supplies. The trucks left St. Francis of Assisi Parish Church in Mandaluyong City, where the TLPP is based, last March 19, 2014, on the feast of St. Joseph, and arrived the town of Salcedo, Eastern Samar, Saturday March 22, 2014.

The Province hopes to put into full-swing the rehabilitation efforts soon.
