June 3, 2017 – On the memorial of St. Charles Lwanga and Companions, two brothers have finally made their perpetual vows to live “in obedience, without anything of my own and in chastity.” The celebration of the Holy Eucharist was presided by Br. Eugenio Juanilo P. Lopez, OFMCap., Provincial Minister, at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes, Quezon City. The brothers making their solemn profession were Br. John Rey P. Baalan, OFMCap., from Narra, Palawan and Br. Denver F. de Leon, OFMCap., from Sungay, Tagaytay City.
After completing discernment in the initial formation, they prostrated before the altar as a symbol of their dying to the world and being reborn in the Spirit. Professing religious vows in the Capuchin Way of life perpetually does not end here but rather it just the beginning of their lives as Capuchin Lesser brothers striving to be witnesses of God’s love and mercy.
After the celebration, the people gathered together for a simple meal.
