August 23, 2017 – Sta. Teresita Parish made a historical milestone of its 40th founding anniversary as it also celebrated its “Dedication of the Church and the Altar” last August 23, 2017. The event was presided and solemnized by Most Rev. Honesto Ongtioco, DD, Bishop of the Diocese of Cubao. From Kanlaon St. just outside the Parish Office, the people assembled together at 5 o’clock in the afternoon to begin their entrance and procession going to the church. When all reached the main door of the Parish, Mr. Ben Gavez, PPC President presented to the Bishop the plans, documents and key of the Parish Building as a sign that the church belongs to the people of God of the Diocese of Cubao. The Bishop handed down then the said documents and key to Fr. Wilfredo Atienza, OFMCap., the then Parish Priest in order to open the door of the church. After the entrance, the rite for the blessing and sprinkling of water followed. The Liturgy of the Word was read by some faithful, and the Gospel was proclaimed and chanted by Rev. Paul Vincent Perlado, OFMCap.-Deacon. The Bishop gave his homily right after the Gospel. The Rite of Dedication, the anointing of the altar and the walls of the church, the incensation of the altar and the church, the clothing of the altar, and the lighting of the altar and the church were held subsequently before the Liturgy of the Eucharist. Towards the end of the celebration, Fr.
